It's SUPER simple...

Reader, did you catch my LinkedIn post yesterday? If not, I'll give ya the cliff notes:

  • I was this 🤏 close to buying a course from a longtime {super successful} inbox mentor
  • I responded to their email - per their call-to-action - aaaand *nothing*
  • They lost a sale because their communication (er- lack thereof) didn't align with what they said

I've got something to preach about today (preaching to myself, too): You have a responsibility to build relationships with your audience. It's a key driver in your success.

Your relationship with your audience should not be purely transactional. Do you feel energized and excited about your next step when someone comes along and drains you of all your resources? Didn't think so.

We have to be relational. Our audience deserves to feel excited to hear from us. We want them to give us their full attention. And when they have something to share, we do it in return because we value them and treat them as we want to be treated.

Again, it's that simple.

I get it... we all have our moments when we can't possibly give any more. But your audience will remember how you made them feel and how you helped make their lives better. Communication IS connection. Say it with me now...

🎶Communication IS connection.

And it may be easier than you think. This week, I'm challenging you to communicate with your audience more. Create a relationship. Here are some ideas to get you started:

  • Add a CTA on your emails to reply to that email. Make it worth their while.
  • Respond to someone else's email! Ask a question, give them a kind word, thank them for their insight... whatever feels right.
  • Engage with their content. Comment on their post. Share their article. Leave a review. A little appreciation goes SUCH a long way!

We're better together. That starts by actually talking to each other. When you implement these tips this week, click reply and let me know how they responded. (see what I did there? 🤭) And if you want to spark connection automatically, I've got email templates for that.
