Can we just not?

Reader,

Do you feel like you make genuine connections online?

I've found some amazing people in the online world. People who have become business friends, clients, or supporters. But let's be real... establishing a genuine connection online can be extremely difficult.

Just in the past couple of weeks, I've gotten cold pitches that immediately made me realize I did not connect with that person. (One guy even called me "Amy" 🀨)

Have you ever felt that way? You've felt that gut feeling that says immediately no? I'm not a fan of that feeling, but it's also necessary when deciding who we choose to nurture relationships with.

Don't get me wrong- I'll support a cold pitch if it demonstrates an effort to make genuine connections.

In this day and age, *pushes up glasses, Boomer style* we aren't truly connecting with each other. We're losing communication skills and creating surface-level relationships. We're human. We crave connection. But sending a copy-and-paste cold pitch doesn't get us closer to a true connection.

...You know what makes a bigger impression on ideal clients and customers than a cold pitch? Having damn good copy that shows who you are, what you value, and invites others to join you.

High-quality copy isn't just for slapping words on a page and checking off a box on your to-do list. Your copy is often your first impression, and you need to have something that will stick. That means impactful copy on your

  • social media captions
  • website
  • emails
  • podcast or video scripts
  • ...literally anything in your business that requires text.

When they read or consume your content, they will decide if you're a good fit or not (and remember, it's okay if someone isn't a good fit). When your ideal client or customer reads your copy, they should feel connected.

I understand that producing high-quality content all.the.time. can feel overwhelming. If "email sequence" or "website copy" is still left unchecked on your to-do list, just reply to this email and I'll take it off your hands. πŸ’–
